Address: pl. Piastowski 25/27 , 58-588 Jelenia Góra
A monumental palace residence with a facade 81 meters long. It was built by Prince Johann Nepomucen Schaffgotsch in the place of the former Renaissance manor house and guest house. The palace was built in 1784-1788 using the relics of both past buildings that remained after the fire of 1777. The palace represents the style of mature Baroque using early Classicist forms. The architect of the design is Johann Georg Rudolf, who was employed in the Schaffgotsch estates and the property of the Cistercians in Krzeszów. Facade decorations were made by Augustin Wagner and stonemason Johann Pausenberger. The interiors were decorated in the style of the Empire, in the years 1789-1809, painter Anton Paetz and stucco Johan Joseph Echtler. In the years 1865-1866 the interior was rebuilt in the spirit of historicism. In the years 1949-1951 the palace was renovated. A branch of the Wrocław University of Technology has been located in the palace building since 1975.
