Post-Cistercian Baroque monastery complex with the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and St. John the Baptist is one of the most magnificent and most beautiful baroque buildings in Silesia. It is the place of creation of the Henrykow Book - a valuable monument of Polish literature. Today, the Henryków monastery functions as a prior of the Szczyrzyc Abbey. Then Prince Henry the Bearded gave Mikołaj, the cathedral canon of Wrocław, permission to settle in Henryków, in the Oława river valley, the Cistercian order - a branch of the abbey from Lubiąż. The first monks arrived in Henryków on May 28, 1227. They were nine monks from Lubiąż, headed by Abbot Henry. In 1228 the monastery location document was issued, defining at the same time its emoluments. The Cistercian Abbey in Henryków is a unique set of monuments entered in the register of monuments. According to this register, the historic complex consists of several dozen objects, including a church, monastery complex, mausoleum, orangery, coach house.
