The representative palace in Wałbrzych has two floors, it is made of brick and stone. It consists of three wings forming a total plan of the letter "U", open from the street, where the honorary courtyard is located. It was built in the years 1801-1803 in the classical style according to the design of L. Niederräcker. The museum in the palace was founded in 1908. By the decision of the Minister of Culture in 2002, the museum in Wałbrzych was entered into the State Register of Museums. The ceramics department was created in 1968. The museum collects over 10,500 ceramic collection objects. The collection consists primarily of historical and contemporary porcelain from various European countries: Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Russia, Denmark, France, the Netherlands and England. The collection of ceramics from other parts of Poland is created by products created in Ćmielów, Korc or Baranówka. The most numerous group of objects in the department is glazed porcelain. The facility also has an Art Department, City and Region History Department and a Library.
